Since 1987 I have stayed in Casole d'Elsa nearly every summer. During the first few years it was the landscape which offered me a kind of visial holdoay from the more sober concerns of my urban imagery of that time. The paintings on this page are from 1987 to 1995. I often worked from drawings made on the spot from which I made monoprints. I could then paint or pastel over the monoprints.
